Another study on Vesuvius focused on a smaller sample of students from three towns, and findings suggest that respondents have an accurate perception of the level of volcanic risks, but lack an understanding of the volcanic processes and related hazards ( Carlino et al., 2008). Despite this, there is still a lack of knowledge about the emergency plan and a lack of confidence in public officials among the respondents ( Barberi et al., 2008). For Vesuvius, a survey covered all towns around the volcano, and major findings indicate that the respondents had generally realistic views about the risk, including the recognition that an eruption with serious impacts was likely, which is a reason to worry about the threat. Quantitative studies on understanding the perception and coping strategies of populations living on volcanoes with a history of destructive eruption have remained limited, for example, the work on Vesuvius ( Barberi et al., 2008 Carlino et al., 2008) and Campi Flegrei ( Ricci et al., 2013) both in Naples, Italy, and Popocatepetl, Mexico ( Lopez-Vasquez, 2009). While various information and education efforts were conducted in the years leading to the 2020 event, the lack of experiential knowledge among the lakeshore residents and the fact that Taal did not have any major eruption in more than 40 years mainly contributed to their hesitancy to immediately evacuate, and not until the eruption occurred. Interviews of eyewitnesses from TCLS on the other hand suggest a spectator’s first reaction to watching the motorized outrigger boats as TVI residents evacuated (social cues), waiting before taking action to evacuate themselves. These paved the way for the quick action of the residents to evacuate at the most critical time. The decisions and resulting actions of TVI residents highlight the importance of alertness to observations of changing volcano behavior (environmental cues) based on local knowledge and long-established communication between the monitoring agency and the residents who had trust in the received warning message during the unfolding event. These also include information on individual actions that helped lead to community evacuation. Personal accounts of TVI residents provide an up-close look at the volcano’s behavior from the day before the eruption to the escalation of volcanic activity until the early morning after the eruption. This study reconstructs the 12 January 2020 Taal Volcano eruption through the analysis of narratives from two perspectives: those of the Taal Volcano Island (TVI) residents and those living along the Taal Caldera Lakeshore (TCLS). 2Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology-Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PHIVOLCS), Buco, Talisay, Batangas, Philippines.1Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology-Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PHIVOLCS), Quezon City, Philippines. The EEOC’s work to prevent and address harassment in America’s workplaces is reflected in additional EEOC resources. The Commission has identified two harassment-related national enforcement priorities in the EEOC’s new Strategic Enforcement Plan: preventing and remedying systemic harassment, and protecting vulnerable workers and people from underserved communities from harassment. Between fiscal years 20, more than one-third of charges received by the EEOC included an allegation of harassment. Harassment remains a serious workplace problem. “The Commission looks forward to receiving public input on the proposed enforcement guidance.” “Preventing and addressing harassment in America’s workplaces has long been a key priority for the EEOC, and this guidance will provide clarity on new developments in the law and build on the Commission’s previous work,” said EEOC Chair Charlotte A. Specifically, it provides numerous updated examples to reflect a wide range of scenarios, incorporates updates throughout on current case law on workplace harassment, and addresses the proliferation of digital technology and how social media postings and other online content can contribute to a hostile work environment. These laws protect covered employees from harassment based on race, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation, transgender status, and pregnancy), national origin, disability, age (40 and older) or genetic information. The third night has similar gameplay as the second but introduces Dreadbear. However, if the player is fast enough, they can flash Grimm Foxy away before he has a chance to kill them. The only difference seems to be that Grimm Foxy's jumpscare cannot be prevented once he leaves Pirate Cove, as he instantly breaks through the wooden planks on the left door. The night introduces Grimm Foxy, who seemingly has the same behavior in contrast to Foxy. The second night has much similar gameplay to the second night of the first game. Both Jack-O-Bonnie and Jack-O-Chica are already active in this night, they approach on doorways to the player similar to Bonnie and Chica on the first game. The first night has much similar gameplay to the first night of the first game, Five Nights at Freddy's. New - Added Baked Lighting and more static props. Grimm Foxy is in the Pirate Cove, and like Foxy, he slowly comes out from his cove. Jack-O-Chica and Jack-O-Bonnie have similar behavior as Bonnie and Chica in FNaF 1 challenge, but they are scared of the light, and the player can use the shock button to scare them away. The power can be reset by flipping the switch on the wall. The power does not drain as time goes on, but instead decreases by 20% every time the player uses the shock button. There is also an additional shock button available for the camera system, in which the player can make the animatronics leave a certain room by using the shock button on a certain camera. The light buttons now function as shock buttons and can be used to fend off any animatronics at the doorway. When the animatronics are at the doorways, they will hit the planks until they're broken. Because of that, the door buttons don't have any function anymore. It turns out that she is concealing five priceless works of art stolen by her father many years before. The Naitabals unfriendly neighbour is spotted disappearing down her garden at midnight. Both doors are removed and replaced with only wood planks. Now retitled, this is the first book in the Naitabals mystery series. However, a lot of the mechanics are changed as well. The challenge has some similar gameplay as the FNaF 1 challenge, such as the camera system and the animatronics' routes. As I describe in my article on replacing a string trimmer carburetor, it’s cheap and easy to buy a remanufactured unit and drop it in. If replacing the fuel lines doesn’t work, the other likely culprit is your carburetor. At higher throttle, it may suck air instead of gas, leaning out your fuel mixture. Lastly, it may not rev up properly when you give it throttle. The primer bulb also won’t seal properly, so you’ll notice more air than usual when you try to prime the trimmer. It’ll also become fairly brittle, and you may be able to pinch the hose and see cracks. My trimmer has a clear green-tinted line that had started turning brown. So how do you know if your fuel line has gone bad? It can discolor. My chainsaw, on the other hand, sees less use, so I always empty it after use. This worked fine until I forgot to do it last year. It seems like too much of a pain to do this every week. I tend to drain my string trimmer’s tank in the fall and then run it out of gas before storing for the winter. Fuel stabilizers, such as Stabil, can help with this issue.Īs a final aside, because it is prone to collect water and rot your fuel lines, it is recommended to drain ethanol gas from small outdoor power tools. It also has a tendency to attract water, so it is more prone to going bad from sitting than gasoline. Because it is less energy dense than gasoline, it results in worse fuel economy. High-ethanol blends such as e85, which are 85% ethanol, thus lend themselves well to forced induction applications, where the high octane is desirable to prevent pre-ignition.įor the average consumer, ethanol is less desirable. It’s cheaper and more stable (higher octane) than gasoline, but has a lower energy density. Ethanol is a corn-based alternative fuel. Wood’s nimble fretwork had uncredited horns as their counterpoint, as the narrator announced his departure for South America. That led to the splendid “Lost Paraguayos’, which showcased more of Stewart’s winningly plain-speaking lyrics, especially concerning his relationships with women. ‘True Blue’ may just be the best rocker Stewart has committed to vinyl in his last three outings.” Ron Wood and Kenny Jones produce crisp assertive lines with clever syncopations which make this tune the most cooking Faces recording for a long time. “The hero of the cut is Ian McLagan, who contributes dazzling electric piano. “Rod writes catchy lyrics, couplets that leave a real impression because of their looseness and the way they flow naturally off the tongue. “Stewart’s unique, bright songwriting talents are highlighted with the opening ‘True Blue’,” he wrote. He composed three songs for Never A Dull Moment with his longtime pal and confidant Ronnie Wood, while the album’s best-known track, the glorious single “You Wear It Well,” was another collaboration with writer-guitarist Martin Quittenton, Rod’s foil on “Maggie May.” Elsewhere, Stewart’s range of influences was well displayed with a range of covers of such inspirations as Sam Cooke, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Dylan.Ĭlick to load video ‘The best rocker Stewart has committed to vinyl’Īn enthusiastic fan of this opening salvo was writer Mark Leviton, who reviewed the album for the New York-based Words And Music magazine. The north London-born singer won praise for his diligence on the new album in both his songwriting and choice of outside material. When it was released, on July 21, Never A Dull Moment was an apt title. The follow-up album may have featured more than a little help from his mates, but it was again entirely self-produced. Now, after the spectacular breakthrough of Rod’s Every Picture Tells A Story album and “Maggie May” single, came further new glory. After endless toil, he had made it big beyond his wildest imaginings the year before, both as a solo artist and with his beloved Faces. The ironic album portrait may have suggested otherwise, but life was anything but boring for Rod Stewart in 1972. It is easier to tune other instruments with this pure tone.Īnother reason for using the fork shape is that it can then be held at the base without damping the oscillation. When the tuning fork is struck, little of the energy goes into the overtone modes they also die out correspondingly faster, leaving a pure sine wave at the fundamental frequency. By comparison, the first overtone of a vibrating string or metal bar is one octave above (twice) the fundamental, so when the string is plucked or the bar is struck, its vibrations tend to mix the fundamental and overtone frequencies. The reason for this is that the frequency of the first overtone is about 5 2 / 2 2 = 25 / 4 = 6 + 1⁄ 4 times the fundamental (about 2 + 1⁄ 2 octaves above it). The main reason for using the fork shape is that, unlike many other types of resonators, it produces a very pure tone, with most of the vibrational energy at the fundamental frequency. Description Motion of an A-440 tuning fork (greatly exaggerated) vibrating in its principal modeĪ tuning fork is a fork-shaped acoustic resonator used in many applications to produce a fixed tone. The tuning fork was invented in 1711 by British musician John Shore, sergeant trumpeter and lutenist to the royal court. They are traditional sources of standard pitch for tuning musical instruments. A tuning fork's pitch depends on the length and mass of the two prongs. It resonates at a specific constant pitch when set vibrating by striking it against a surface or with an object, and emits a pure musical tone once the high overtones fade out. Tuning fork by John Walker stamped with note (E) and frequency in hertz (659)Ī tuning fork is an acoustic resonator in the form of a two-pronged fork with the prongs ( tines) formed from a U-shaped bar of elastic metal (usually steel).
